Rep. Thomas Massie criticized the GOP’s lack of action on Obamacare, suggesting it could be rebranded as “Trumpcare” due to the party’s failure to repeal the law.

Rep. Thomas Massie, a Republican from Kentucky, voiced his criticism of President Donald Trump and fellow Republican lawmakers regarding their handling of the Affordable Care Act, commonly known as Obamacare. During a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Massie suggested that the legislation could now be referred to as “Trumpcare.”

“Might as well call it Trumpcare now,” Massie stated. “Our party has made no serious effort to repeal Obamacare and legalize affordable health insurance after taking control of the House, Senate, and White House.” He further elaborated that the current healthcare system primarily benefits insurance and hospital companies.

Massie’s comments sparked a response from a user who questioned how progress could be made without votes, asking if Trump could act independently. In his reply, Massie pointed out that the president has “endorsed literally every Republican who wants to keep Obamacare.”

These remarks come in the wake of Massie’s recent political challenges. He lost the Republican primary in Kentucky’s 4th Congressional District in May to Ed Gallrein, a challenger backed by Trump and a former Navy SEAL.

Massie has been a member of the U.S. House of Representatives since late 2012, and his outspoken views on healthcare reform reflect a growing frustration among some party members regarding the GOP’s approach to Obamacare.

Fox News Digital reached out to the White House for comment on Massie’s assertions, but no response was immediately available.

According to Fox News, Massie’s critique underscores a broader discontent within the Republican Party about its legislative priorities and effectiveness in addressing healthcare issues.
