“It is very good to be here completely legally. I’m not a citizen. It’s a very quick visit, in and out. I was just here to vote,” Das said at the outset, setting the tone with his trademark humor. I’ve been offered doctor Raj, lawyer Raj, engineer Raj. I even got offered a guy from England named British Raj.” His observation humorously highlighted the repetitive and reductive roles often offered to Indian actors in Western media.

Das pointed out, “Tonight is a celebration of the world.
