An Amber Alert has been activated across British Columbia following the reported abduction of 4-year-old Atlas Andrews by his mother, Alisse Andrews, from West Kelowna. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) issued the alert shortly after midnight on July 22, as they investigate what they are calling a parental abduction.
Authorities are urging anyone who sees the child, the suspect, or their vehicle to call 911 immediately.
The alert was issued after Atlas Andrews was reported missing on July 21. Investigators believe that he was taken by his mother, prompting the urgent response to locate him as quickly as possible.
Atlas Andrews is described as a Caucasian male, approximately 3 feet tall and weighing around 51 pounds. He has brown hair and hazel eyes.
The suspect, Alisse Andrews, is also described as Caucasian. She is 40 years old, stands 5 feet 4 inches tall, and weighs approximately 121 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes.
Authorities are particularly interested in a black 2021 Nissan Qashqai, which is believed to be the vehicle used by the pair. The car bears the British Columbia license plate RV003L.
The RCMP is asking the public to remain vigilant and report any sightings of Atlas Andrews, Alisse Andrews, or the black Nissan Qashqai. They advise against approaching the individuals if spotted and instead recommend contacting emergency services with any information.
