More than 25,000 visitors gathered at the Grand Ganesh Festival in San Ramon, California, celebrating faith and culture through prayers, performances, and community engagement.
SAN RAMON, CA – The Bay Area’s Grand Ganesh Festival attracted over 25,000 visitors and devotees at the Bishop Ranch City Center on September 19. This vibrant celebration brought families together for a day filled with prayers, cultural programs, food, shopping, and various activities.
Under the theme “East Bay Ka Raja,” the festival showcased a striking 12-foot Ganesha idol, serving as the centerpiece for a series of devotional programs. Among these were the Ganesha Pratishthapana and sahasra aarti, which drew many attendees eager to participate in the spiritual rituals.
The event was open throughout the day, with families and visitors arriving steadily to offer their prayers. The evening festivities featured a grand performance by Spartans Grand Dhol Tasha, followed by the Pallaki Seva procession and the Ganesh Visarjan, marking the conclusion of the celebrations.
Cultural performances were a highlight of the festival, including classical dance, devotional music, Ganesh Vandana, bhajans, and Mangal Geet. Children engaged in an arts and activity zone, which included a Ganesha art competition, fostering creativity and participation among the younger attendees.
Food and shopping vendors added to the lively atmosphere, with organizers noting that participating businesses experienced strong customer engagement throughout the festival.
The event was also attended by several elected officials and community leaders, including San Ramon Vice Mayor Merisol Rubio, BART Board of Directors President Melissa Hernandez, Dublin Mayor Sherry Hu, Pleasanton Mayor Jack Balch, and San Ramon Councilmembers Sridhar Verose and Richard Adler, along with Dublin Councilmember John Morada.
Organizers expressed gratitude to Bishop Ranch/City Center, the City of San Ramon, sponsors, vendors, performers, volunteers, public safety teams, civic partners, and community organizations for their support in making the event a success.
