Salman Khan Seeks Court Injunction Against 'Kaala Hiran' Release (1)

Bollywood actor Salman Khan has filed a petition in the Delhi High Court to prevent the release of the film ‘Kaala Hiran: The Battle for Legacy,’ citing concerns over his personality rights.

MUMBAI — Bollywood actor Salman Khan has taken legal action by approaching the Delhi High Court in an effort to stop the release of the film Kaala Hiran: The Battle for Legacy.

Khan’s petition seeks both permanent and interim injunctions against filmmaker Amit Jani, Jani Firefox Films, Bharat Shrinath, Akshay Pandey, and others involved in the project. He is requesting that they be restrained from any production, development, financing, distribution, direction, and promotion of the film.

In his petition, Khan alleges that the film’s promotional materials and poster infringe upon his personality rights by exploiting his name, image, and public identity for commercial purposes without his consent. He argues that the film could potentially harm his reputation and legal interests.

Prior to filing the petition, Khan sent a legal notice to the film’s creators, demanding an immediate cessation of its development and promotional activities.

The actor contends that the film appears to draw inspiration from his long-standing blackbuck case, which could further damage his reputation and interfere with ongoing judicial proceedings.

Khan’s notice emphasizes that the blackbuck case is still pending before the Rajasthan High Court, and he believes that the film’s release could jeopardize the administration of justice.

The case in question originates from allegations that Khan hunted two blackbucks in Kankani village near Jodhpur, Rajasthan, in September 1998, during the filming of Hum Saath Saath Hain.

As the situation unfolds, it remains to be seen how the court will respond to Khan’s petition and what implications this may have for the film’s release.
