LOS ANGELES, CA – Supriya Ganesh made a memorable entrance at the 78th Emmy Awards, swapping her character’s medical scrubs from HBO’s acclaimed series ‘The Pitt’ for a dazzling periwinkle satin gown designed by Alexander McQueen.
Ganesh, who portrays Dr. Samira Mohan in the hit medical drama, arrived at the Peacock Theater wearing a slip dress that featured a mermaid-style silhouette. The gown hugged her figure before flaring out at the skirt, with ruffles adding a touch of volume to the lower portion.
A gauzy fabric cascaded from the ruffled detailing, enhancing the skirt’s elegance while preserving the gown’s overall shape. The periwinkle satin lent a distinctive sheen, making Ganesh stand out on the red carpet.

Born in the United States to Tamil parents from India, Ganesh moved to New Delhi with her family at the age of three. She excelled academically, graduating as valedictorian from Pathways School Noida in 2015 before returning to the U.S. to attend Columbia University.
At Columbia, Ganesh earned a degree in neuroscience with a minor in gender studies. Initially, she planned to attend medical school and followed a pre-med track, completing the necessary coursework, including organic chemistry.
While pursuing her studies, Ganesh began auditioning for acting roles, balancing her academic commitments with her passion for performance. Her parents supported her ambitions in acting but also encouraged her to have a backup plan. Ultimately, Ganesh decided to focus on her acting career.
Her role as Dr. Samira Mohan in ‘The Pitt’ brings her back into a medical environment, albeit this time as an actress rather than a student on a medical path.
Ganesh’s choice of a fit-and-flare silhouette was mirrored by her co-star Shabana Azeez, who plays medical student Victoria Javadi on ‘The Pitt.’ Azeez made her own fashion statement in a gold strapless gown by Sophie Couture, which featured a dramatic train.
