An Indian student, Varun Batchigari, has been arrested in Germany after allegedly fleeing the U.S. following the death of his girlfriend in Arizona.

Batchigari, who was studying business analytics at the University of Arizona, faces serious charges, including first-degree murder and kidnapping. The allegations stem from the events of August 6, when Tucson police and emergency services were called to Salazar’s apartment following a request from her family for a welfare check. Upon arrival, responders found Salazar unresponsive and pronounced her dead at the scene.
