Baibhab Chatterjee, an alumnus of IIT Bombay, has been appointed as a Nelms Rising Star Professor at the University of Florida, recognizing his significant contributions to advanced electronics and IoT technology.
The Warren B. Nelms Institute for the Connected World at the University of Florida has appointed Baibhab Chatterjee as a Nelms Rising Star Professor. This prestigious title acknowledges his early-career achievements in the fields of advanced electronics and Internet of Things (IoT) technology.
Dr. Chatterjee, an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, specializes in the development of energy-efficient and secure analog, radio frequency, and mixed-signal circuits and systems, particularly for biomedical and IoT applications.
His academic journey is deeply rooted in his Indian heritage and the strong engineering education he received. Dr. Chatterjee completed his Bachelor of Technology degree at the National Institute of Technology in Durgapur, India, in 2011. He then pursued a Master of Technology degree from IIT Bombay, which he earned in 2015.
Building on these solid technical foundations, Dr. Chatterjee moved to the United States to further his studies. He earned his PhD in electrical and computer engineering from Purdue University in 2022.
After completing his doctoral studies, Dr. Chatterjee joined the faculty at the University of Florida. His current research focuses on low-power wireless techniques, time-domain sensing, and untethered neural implants, contributing to the advancement of technology in critical areas.
