The Indian American Business Impact Group (IAMBIG) marked America’s 250th birthday in a grand celebration on Wednesday, featuring a remarkable 250-pound cake adorned in red, white, and blue. The event took place at the Marriott in Tysons, Virginia, and attracted a diverse gathering of prominent Indian American business leaders and political figures.

Among the attendees were former Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe and U.S. Representatives Shri Thanedar (D-Mich.) and Suhas Subramanyam (D-Va.). Both Congress members shared their reflections on the importance of this milestone anniversary and acknowledged the significant contributions of the Indian American community to the nation’s development and prosperity.

During their addresses, Thanedar and Subramanyam emphasized the founding ideals of the United States and the spirit of entrepreneurship that has driven the country forward. They also highlighted the expanding role of Indian Americans in shaping the future of the nation.

Ravi Puli, the Founder and President of IAMBIG, welcomed the dignitaries and introduced McAuliffe. Puli, who is also the president and CEO of International Solutions Group (ISG), spoke about the enduring contributions of the Indian American community, not just in the past and present, but also in the future. He expressed optimism for the nation’s 500th anniversary, stating that the work being done today will have lasting impacts for generations to come.

Former Ohio State Senator Niraj Antani also addressed the audience, contributing to the discussions surrounding America’s rich history and its evolving identity.

The formal program included a youth panel discussion that explored America’s past, present, and future aspirations. This was followed by cultural performances showcasing traditional music and a vibrant display of youth-led patriotism, further enriching the celebratory atmosphere.

In recognition of their service and contributions, four IAMBIG members—Seema Dixit, Prashant Gaur, Ravish Punia, and Ashok Kumar Pattanagere—were honored with plaques presented by the members of Congress. Additionally, performers and youth panel participants were acknowledged for their contributions to the event.

IAMBIG was established in 2023 by Ravi Puli, along with Anil Sharma, CEO of 22nd Century Technologies; Sandesh Sharda, an angel investor and founder of Miracle Systems; and Ashish Khot, CEO of TechnoMile. The organization serves as a vital platform for Indian American business owners, CEOs, and C-suite executives from both private and publicly traded companies to network, exchange ideas, and explore investment and business opportunities across various sectors, including information technology, real estate, healthcare, renewable energy, hospitality, education, entertainment, and sports.

This celebration not only commemorated a significant milestone in American history but also highlighted the integral role that the Indian American community plays in the ongoing narrative of the nation’s growth and success, according to The American Bazaar.
