Glamorous Start to Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival 2023 with Star-Studded Opening Ceremony

The Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival’s opening ceremony was a glamorous event held at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre. It attracted a constellation of stars, with notable attendees including Priyanka Chopra, Sonam Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Kamal Haasan, and Sunny Leone, among others.

Priyanka Chopra, who also serves as the Chairperson of the Mumbai Film Festival, graced the occasion with her presence. She arrived in India for the event and was spotted wearing an elegant white gown adorned with golden stripes, complemented by a matching cape. Priyanka shared snapshots from her photoshoot on her Instagram account, captioning it with “Opening night ❤️?? Jio Mami Mumbai Film Festival @mumbaifilmfestival.” In the photos, she can be seen posing next to a grand black piano. Her husband, Nick Jonas, left a fiery comment on the post, though he didn’t accompany her to India this time. Their daughter, Malti, was seen traveling with Priyanka.

Sonam Kapoor also graced the opening ceremony, dressed in a chic black outfit reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn. The star-studded event further featured prominent figures from the entertainment industry, including actors Kamal Haasan, Rajkummar Rao, Sunny Leone, Tara Sutaria, Tejasswi Prakash, Avneet Kaur, Saiee Manjrekar, Raashi Khanna, Utkarsh Sharma, and Palak Tiwari.

Regarding MAMI 2023, this year’s festival opened with Hansal Mehta’s detective drama “The Buckingham Murders,” starring Kareena Kapoor. The festival lineup includes notable films like Aparna Sen’s “The Rapist,” featuring Konkona Sensharma and Arjun Rampal, Anurag Kashyap’s crime thriller “Kennedy,” with Sunny Leone and Rahul Bhat, and Varun Grover’s directorial debut, “All India Rank.” The festival also features international titles such as Bradley Cooper’s “Maestro.” MAMI 2023 is dedicated to celebrating the cinema of South Asia and is scheduled to run from October 27 to November 5.
