In a surprising turn of events, several capybaras wandered into the Mato Grosso Legislative Assembly in Cuiabá, Brazil, on July 30, interrupting lawmakers as they prepared for a vote.
The uninvited guests strolled through the entrance, capturing the attention of those present as they explored the government building. Video footage recorded by legislative staffer Nayara Bueno showcased the calm demeanor of the capybaras as they meandered through the halls while workers attempted to guide them back outside.
“They show up here quite often, so we’ve gotten used to seeing them,” Bueno remarked in an interview with The Associated Press.
