The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay has announced the exam dates for the Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED) and the Common Entrance Exam for Design (CEED) for 2027.

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has officially announced the exam date for the Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED) and the Common Entrance Exam for Design (CEED) for the year 2027. Both exams are scheduled to take place on January 17, 2027, in an online format across India.

Detailed information regarding the application process, correction window, and admit cards will be provided in the forthcoming information bulletin.

As per the announcement, the UCEED and CEED exams will be conducted simultaneously on the same date. UCEED is aimed at facilitating admissions to undergraduate design courses at various IITs, including those in Bombay, Roorkee, Delhi, Hyderabad, Guwahati, and Jabalpur. Conversely, CEED is intended for admissions to master’s degree programs in design available at several IITs across the country.

The application process for UCEED and CEED is expected to commence in October 2026, following trends from previous years. Eligible candidates will be able to register by submitting the required documents and paying the prescribed fees, adhering to the format and size specifications set by the authorities.

In terms of exam structure, UCEED 2027 will consist of a three-hour examination divided into two parts, totaling 300 marks. Part A will feature 57 questions worth 200 marks, while Part B will include sketching and design aptitude papers, contributing an additional 100 marks.

Similarly, the CEED 2027 exam will also be conducted in an online format over a duration of three hours. It is divided into two parts: Part A will consist of 44 questions totaling 150 marks, while Part B will assess candidates’ creativity, sketching abilities, problem identification skills, form sensitivity, and visual sensitivity through five questions, each worth 20 marks.
