The second panel, moderated by foreign policy columnist Seema Sirohi, will include Harvard historian Caroline Elkins, former ambassador Nina Hachigian, and novelist Viet Thanh Nguyen. Elkins, known for her book “Legacy of Violence: A History of the British Empire,” and Nguyen, who has explored themes of empire, memory, and American identity, will broaden the discussion beyond contemporary geopolitics.
