Unni Thoyakkatt Appointed as Secretary for MANTRA

dece8921 c1a0 416c 855d 135f7fd9777dAs the Malayali Association of North American Hindus (MANTRA) prepares for its third convention, Shakteyam 2027, to be held in New York from July 1 to 4, Unni Thoyakkatt has been appointed as the new secretary—an acknowledgment of his long-standing cultural commitment and leadership within the Malayali diaspora.

A respected figure in both community circles and the IT industry, Unni is one of the founding members of the Malayali Association of Southern Connecticut (MASCON). He served as MASCON’s first secretary and later as its president, helping lay a strong foundation for the organization and uniting the local Malayali community. Beyond MASCON, Unni has played a significant role in the Federation of Malayali Associations of Americas (FOMA), serving as a Karma Nirathan and leading regional coordination efforts for many years.

For the past four years, he has also served on MANTRA’s board, offering valuable insights and actively participating in the group’s cultural initiatives.

Unni resides in Connecticut with his wife, Radha Unni, and daughters Anusree and Archana.

MANTRA President Shri Krishnaraj Mohanan praised the appointment, stating, “Shri Unni Thoyakkatt’s extensive background in cultural and organizational work, along with his innovative ideas and calm demeanor, make him an excellent choice to serve as secretary.”
