Baramulla Police have seized land belonging to two individuals linked to terrorism in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, aiming to disrupt anti-national networks in the region.
Srinagar: In a significant operation against anti-national elements, the Baramulla Police executed property attachments of two proclaimed offenders involved in unlawful activities. This action was carried out under the directives of the Hon’ble Special Court designated under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
The operation pertains to case FIR No. 03/2008, registered at Police Station Pattan. This case involves serious charges under Sections 2 and 3 of the Enemy Agents Ordinance (EIMCO) Act, Section 121 of the Ranbir Penal Code (RPC), and Section 19 of the UAPA. The court order authorizing the attachment proceedings is numbered 122/ASJ/BLA/UAPA and is dated September 2, 2025.
The properties attached include land belonging to two individuals currently residing in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The first individual, Mohd Maqbool Sheikh, son of Late Ali Mohd Sheikh, has land measuring 03 Kanals 15 Marlas under Survey No. 1947/1767. The second individual, Mohd Rafiq Tantray, son of Ab Hamid Tantray, has land measuring 04 Kanals 17 Marlas under Survey Nos. 1763/1584/2395.
This attachment was executed under Section 88 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) with the active assistance of the Revenue Department. The properties were thoroughly identified and demarcated, and all necessary legal formalities, including public notification and proclamation, were completed.
This action underscores the Baramulla Police’s commitment to dismantling the terror ecosystem in the region. Authorities have indicated that the process of identifying and attaching properties belonging to individuals involved in unlawful and anti-national activities will continue in accordance with the law.
