MUMBAI — The doors to the much-awaited ‘Bigg Boss 20’ house, hosted by Salman Khan, are set to open on September 6. This season promises a unique experience with a dreamscape inspired by ‘Alice in Wonderland,’ showcasing a blend of bright colors, surrealism, and imaginative design.
The new house design strikes a balance between the familiar and the unexpected, blurring the lines between reality and imagination. Vibrant hues dominate the space, transforming everyday objects into whimsical creations.
Among the standout features is a giant teapot that pours into a couch, while a magnificent octopus holds chess pieces in its tentacles. Additionally, a hot-air balloon has been reimagined as a cozy seating area, adding to the fantastical atmosphere.
This season also introduces Room No. 20, the purpose of which remains a mystery, heightening the intrigue for viewers as the show prepares to go on air.
Art Director Varsha Jain, responsible for the house’s design, explained that the concept revolves around duality, utilizing familiar objects and symbols in unexpected ways.
“Designing the Bigg Boss Hindi Season 20 house was about creating a world that constantly challenges perception,” Jain stated. “We wanted to explore the idea of duality by taking objects and symbols that audiences instantly recognize and reimagining them in unexpected ways so that a teapot becomes a couch, an octopus becomes a chess player, and a hot-air balloon becomes a space to gather.”
She further elaborated, “Every element has been designed to feel familiar at first, but reveal something unexpected when you look closer. The eyes woven through the house bring it all back to the essence of Bigg Boss, the feeling that nothing goes unseen. Ultimately, we wanted the house to feel like stepping into a dreamscape, where reality and imagination coexist, and every space offers a new discovery.”
