Although his final lift of 147kg was ruled invalid, his successful second lift of 142kg secured him the top position in a closely contested event.
Vinay’s victory came after a fierce competition, where he narrowly defeated Poland’s Mikolaj Kociubinski, who managed a lift of 141kg. The bronze medal was awarded to Sebastian F. from Ecuador, who lifted 137kg.
This achievement marks Vinay’s second major international triumph. He previously clinched gold at the 2024 Para Powerlifting World Cup in Sharm-El-Sheikh, Egypt, competing in the 59kg Junior Category with a lift of 120kg.
